Heavy rains triggered flooding and landslides in China’s Yunnan and Gansu provinces, with state broadcaster CCTV airing footage on Friday (July 4) showing rescue operations in Ruili, Yunnan, where rainfall topped 70mm (2.8 inches) and residents were trapped by rising waters.
