The India vs England second Test 2025 at the Edgbaston, Birmingham on Day 4 saw India set a target of 608 in front of England. England ended the Day 4's play on 72/3 and still need 536 runs to win. India resumed their second innings on Day 4 morning from 64/1 and lost the wicket of Karun Nair early to Brydon Carse. Shubman Gill came in and started from where he left off in the first innings. First with KL Rahul (55) and then with Rishabh Pant (65) and Ravindra Jadeja (69*), he kept pushing England more and more under the mountain of runs. Rishabh Pant scored a quickfire half-century but it was Ravindra Jadeja and Shubman Gill's partnership once again which frustrated England. Gill ended up scoring 161 runs, extended India's lead to 607 and declared after Tea when the team total was 427/6. Chasing the target, England looked blank as Mohammed Siraj dismissed Zak Crawley and Akash Deep scalped the wickets of Ben Duckett and Joe Root. Harry Brook and Ollie Pope are out on the crease. England will have to chase 536 more runs with seven wickets in hand to secure a 2-0 lead. Meanwhile, India need only seven wickets to equalise.
