A husband and his wife, who claimed to be members of the New People’s Army (NPA), have been arrested for allegedly extorting P2.6 million from a Filipino businessman, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said on Monday, July 7.
The NBI identified the suspects as Christopher Capitulo and his wife Maria Elena who were arrested during an entrapment operation conducted by the NBI’s Organized and Transnational Crime Division (NBI-OTCD) at their residence in Dagat-Dagatan, Caloocan City last July 2.
