A shocking incident surfaced in the city where a car, allegedly driven by students, rammed into a female teacher’s scooty from behind and fled the scene. The entire incident was captured on a nearby CCTV camera. It is suspected that the teacher was intentionally targeted.
According to the complaint filed by her husband Arun Malik, his wife Sangeeta Tikaram, a teacher at a girls’ school, was on her way to work on Thursday morning. While crossing the 100-feet-wide road in Sector-23, a car hit her from behind, injuring her feet and elbows.
Instead of helping her, the students sped away in the car. Arun Malik claimed the car’s number plate had been tampered with — the CCTV footage showed a number belonging to a bike. He filed a complaint on 4 July, but alleges that police took no action for three days.
The investigation reportedly began only after the video of the incident went viral. Police spokesperson Ravindra stated that efforts are underway to identify the car and trace the accused based on the CCTV footage.
