Footage broadcast by Chinese state television has revealed at least four J-35 stealth fighters in the final stages of assembly — including a naval variant intended for the aircraft carrier Fujian.
China has reportedly begun mass production of the fifth-generation Shenyang J-35 stealth fighter, as revealed by images "accidentally" shown by state broadcaster CCTV. The footage was aired during a report on the carrier-based J-15T, but drew attention for capturing four J-35 aircraft being completed at the AVIC production facility in Shenyang.
One of the jets shown features an extended arrestor hook, a clear indication that it is the naval version, designed for deployment aboard the Fujian, China’s most advanced aircraft carrier to date.
