Footage aired by Chinese state television CCTV shows at least four J-35 fighter jets in the final stages of assembly, including a carrier-based version designed for the Fujian aircraft carrier.
China has begun mass production of its fifth-generation stealth fighter, the Shenyang J-35, as revealed by footage "accidentally" shown by CCTV. The clip aired during a report on the carrier-based J-15T, but sharp-eyed viewers noticed four J-35 aircraft being assembled in the background at the AVIC facility in Shenyang.
One of the jets shown features an extended arresting hook — a clear indication that it is the carrier-based version intended to operate from China's newest and most advanced aircraft carrier, Fujian.
