The East Asia Summit (EAS) has grown increasingly relevant and crucial over the past two decades, especially in the face of today’s complex global challenges, said Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.
Delivering his opening remarks at the EAS on Friday (July 10), Mohamad stressed the importance of upholding the Summit’s core purpose—promoting principled engagement and fostering consensus on shared regional and global concerns.
He also reaffirmed Asean’s support for all peace efforts, including those related to conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, grounded in international law, humanitarian principles, and the United Nations Charter.
