On July 14th, NYC recorded 2.64 inches of rainfall, setting a new daily record for that date—surpassing the previous record set in 1908. Even more shocking, the city experienced its second-wettest hour ever recorded, with 2.07 inches of rain falling between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., submerging roads, sidewalks, and critical public transit systems.
