The Girl with the Red Scarf is a 1977 Turkish romantic drama film directed by Atıf Yılmaz, based on a novel by Chinghiz Aitmatov.
The story revolves around Asya, a peasant girl played by Türkan Şoray, who falls in love with İlyas, a truck driver from Istanbul played by Kadir İnanır. Despite their differences, they get married and have a child. However, their happiness is short-lived as İlyas leaves Asya for another woman, Dilek, after losing his job due to helping someone in need. Asya takes their son and embarks on a journey, eventually finding help and shelter with a kind stranger named Cemşit, played by Ahmet Mekin.
