Christian leaders visit Catholic church in Gaza hit by Israeli strike
Church leaders entered to Gaza on July 18, 2025 to visit the Holy Family Church, a day after it was hit in a deadly Israeli airstrike. Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Archbishop Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos III and Greek Orthodox Patriarchate Archbishop Alexios met with parish priest Gabriel Romanelli, who was among those injured when the compound of Gaza's sole Catholic Church was struck and damaged on July 17. The leaders also visited the Greek Orthodox Saint Porphyrius Church and Al-Ahli Arab hospital in Gaza City.
