A 3-year-old boy, Jian, from Kesar Bagh, Lucknow, died at a private hospital in Thakurganj allegedly due to doctors’ negligence. The child, who suffered from GB syndrome, was admitted to Oxygen Hospital after his health deteriorated following a minor injury while playing five days earlier.
According to the family, on Sunday doctors damaged his lungs while inserting an oxygen pipe, after which his condition worsened and he died in agony. They also alleged they were charged ₹46,000 for an injection after bargaining down from ₹50,000.
The hospital claimed the boy was already critical and died despite best efforts. Deputy CMO A.P. Singh said the matter is serious, and action will be taken after the postmortem and formal complaint.
