This couple's love for Star Wars became the centrepiece of their unforgettable wedding celebration.
Eva Santiago, 29 and Richard Torres 33, exchanged vows during a memorable ceremony.
They spent a massive $45,000 (£32,900) to bring their dream Star Wars themed wedding to life for their 80 guests, and the Force tried to go against them as it rained all weekend but despite this - it was a day to remember.
For these two mega-fans, the theme was never in doubt.
Eva explains: “It was almost a default agreement.
"We knew we wanted to have a Star Wars wedding from the moment we started talking about getting married. "
She added that he is a fan of the classic, old-school Star Wars, while she loves the prequels and modern stories.
The grand event took more than a year to plan, all to align with the holy date for fans, May the 4th. The biggest expense was the hotel venue in their home country Puerto Rico, which included food and an open bar.
They also invested heavily in a top-notch photographer and videographer, because they knew that the memories were the most important treasure.
However, Eva used her creativity to save as much money.
Her own mother stitched her incredible wedding dress, inspired by none other than Queen Padme Amidala.
She did her own nails, found many items on Etsy, and even made a Death Star ring box with a friend who had a 3D printer.
Moreover, to honour their heritage, the couple opened their party with a performance of Bomba, a traditional Puerto Rican music, played by her mother’s own group.
To make everyone a part of the saga, guests were given a fun dress code. Better yet, everyone followed the theme perfectly, and the pictures were exactly what the couple wanted.
When Eva posted videos on TikTok, the reaction was immense.
People online fell in love with all the small details and the ‘easter eggs’ hidden in the reception.
But the biggest star was Eva’s Padme-inspired dress.
Eva said: "A lot of people commented on the dress. Everyone loved it. I had it made inspired by Padme's wedding dress, which was probably the biggest Star Wars reference I used and my favourite thing in the entire event.
"The reaction online has been so overwhelmingly positive. I got less than a handful of negative comments, but they all got drowned in the sea of positive ones and Star Wars fans are always going to stick out for each other.
"I spent the entire morning telling my bridesmaids and my sisters not to cry, and keeping everyone's spirits up, the entire time thinking about my husband and how he had to be feeling.
"I stayed strong the first half of the day, and the moment I saw him standing at the altar I broke down and the first thing I said to him when I got up to him was 'I missed you'. He was also crying, so that didn't help."
