Indore, MP – Sub-Inspector Suresh Bunkar was severely thrashed by a group of women in the Khajrana area around 6 AM on Thursday (24.07.2025). Locals used sticks to beat him, attempted to tie him to an electric pole, and even tried to strip him.
Reports say Bunkar was found at a woman’s house in the Khedi area. The woman is reportedly in a marital dispute. SI Bunkar, who came into contact with her during this time, had been visiting her home for the past two months. On Thursday, her family and neighbours caught him there.
Eyewitnesses allege that Bunkar was drunk and misbehaving, which triggered the violent reaction from the public. Khajrana police reached the spot but failed to control the crowd. Additional force from Palasia had to be called in to rescue the officer. Some women have been detained, and four individuals have been booked for attempt to murder.
SI Bunkar has a controversial past. Two years ago, he was beaten by youths in the Lasudia area while intoxicated on duty. The incident had led to serious injuries and a public parade of the accused by police.
