Chennai – A viral video showing a young man snatching jewellery from a lone woman at Perungudi railway station has sparked outrage. In a swift action, the police arrested the accused, identified as Soundar alias Babaji (28) from Villupuram district.
During interrogation, Soundar confessed to targeting the woman after briefly speaking to her and gesturing with his hand. He has a previous case registered at Maraimalainagar police station for mobile phone snatching.
Authorities are continuing further investigation into his criminal background.
