A Vietnamese man was arrested after stealing from a supermarket and attempting to take a 11-month-old baby hostage while fleeing in Butterworth on Saturday (Aug 10).
Seberang Perai Utara police chief ACP Anuar Abdul Rahman said the 12.45pm incident began when the supermarket supervisor caught the man, in his 30s, leaving with unpaid seafood.
