Watch the heartwarming moment a five-year-old boy, celebrating his birthday in New York, gets the surprise of his life when his father, a pilot whose plane broke down in South America unexpectedly shows up.
Aida Hilgart from Japan broke the news to her son that his dad wouldn’t make it to his special day.
Despite the disappointment, the family continued their plans to fly toy planes in Central Park and visit the toy store.
But in a twist of fate, dad managed to reroute and arrive at EWR Airport, stunning his son who had no idea he would show up.
Aida said:”We were celebrating my son’s fifth birthday in NYC, all he wanted to do was fly airplanes through Central Park and go to the toy store.”
“My husband planned on joining us. However his plane broke down in South America.”
Posted online one user commented: "This is probably how it looks when God puts a blessing right in our face, and we are looking everywhere else.”
