Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil has hinted at upcoming initiatives for Malaysia’s animation sector.
Speaking at a press conference after launching the Riuh X Asean event on Thursday (Aug 14), he said more details will be revealed during his winding-up speech on the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) debate in Parliament on Aug 20.
Fahmi added that the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas) is working to strengthen the film industry’s intellectual property (IP) rights, including establishing a network to help locally produced IPs penetrate Asean markets.
