A former Department of Justice employee has been charged with felony federal assault for allegedly throwing a Subway sandwich at a U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent in Washington, D.C., according to CNBC. The suspect, identified as Sean Charles Dunn, worked in the DOJ criminal division’s international affairs section and was fired following the incident. Attorney General Pam Bondi said on X that the fired DOJ employee’s actions exemplify the “Deep State” and will not be tolerated in the administration. The incident on Sunday night was captured in a video showing Dunn throwing a sandwich at an agent before fleeing and being chased by officers. Dunn was arrested Wednesday night and admitted to throwing the sandwich during police processing, according to a D.C. detective’s statement. The case comes amid Trump’s federalization of D.C.’s police force and deployment of 800 National Guard members.
