Hurricane Erin may not be making landfall, but it's bringing dangerous conditions to the entire East Coast. From 40-foot waves to life-threatening rip currents and coastal flooding, Erin is a powerful reminder that even offshore storms can cause serious damage. With tropical storm warnings in place and over 75 beach rescues already reported, beachgoers are urged to stay alert and stay out of the surf. Erin even reached rare Category 5 status — the first of its kind since Beryl and Milton in 2024.
