MCA has begun early preparations for the 16th General Election (GE16), including a more stringent candidate selection process, says party president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.
Speaking at the Selangor MCA convention on Sunday (Aug 24), Dr Wee said assessments such as Bahasa Malaysia proficiency will be part of the evaluation to ensure the party fields capable candidates.
He stressed that constituencies should not be secured first before deciding on candidates.
