The Opposition has called on MPs from Sabah and Sarawak to reject the Urban Renewal Bill (URA), claiming it is unnecessary.
Opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said on Thursday (Aug 28) that since housing loans typically span more than 30 years, the proposed rejuvenation plan was not needed.
Meanwhile, Opposition chief whip Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan (PN-Kota Baru) noted that the Dewan Rakyat secretary had yet to inform Perikatan Nasional of the number of slots its MPs would receive to debate the bill.
