A film version of this work is being written by the playwright, and has not been produced and is based on the stage play. The work is essentially about other things than just the true story of the theft of the Crown Jewels for the Tower of London in 1671. It is about loyalty, ambition, and revenge. It shows all of the stock characters of the Restoration Theater and seeks to draw humor out of outrageous situations with social commentary & parody.
