Unfortunately, I didn't even find concise information about this Chicagoan musician, bandleader and composer, neither was I able to find out whether he is related to bandleader Roger Wolfe Kahn or composer Gus Kahn. This excellent rendition was recorded in 1932. Although the vocalist sounds somewhat familiar, I could not identify him. This side is particularly interesting since it is the only recorded version of this song I've ever come across.
