NREGS is the biggest programme of the UPA Government which aims at alleviating poverty and providing jobs to the poor. It has now been introduced in Sultanpur and the district will reap the benefits of the scheme. It is in our own hands how we implement the programme and how we extract the maximum benefit out of it. The programme is quite successful in the southern part of the country, but its position in Uttar Pradesh is not good. The success of the programme depends upon the monitoring of the programme, how well is it implemented and how much it caters to the poor”.
