Libya welcomes back oil workers with open arms.
Several companies have sent small teams to the eastern Amal oil field near Sirte.
The oil-rich area used to produced 210,000 barrels per day.
But production came to a standstill during Libya's seven-month uprising.
Now companies are hoping to get operations up and running again.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) SAAD ALI ESHIEM, AMAL FIELD GENERAL MANAGER, SAYING:
"More than two weeks, we start our production and now we're something around 50 percent and insha'Allah (God willing) in two or three weeks we can reach the maximum production."
(SOUNDBITE) (English) UNIDENTIFIED LIBYAN WORKER AT AMAL OIL FIELD, SAYING:
"We try to do our best and to get the production and operation back online as soon as possible but with the minimum loss and minimum mistakes."
The process could take several months, depending on the conditions of the wells and pipes that haven't been used in eight months.
Amal, the third largest oil field in Libya's East, is also one of the country's top four producers.
