The battle for Sirte rages on.
Fighters loyal to Libya's interim government continue to bombard the coastal town, the birthplace of Muammar Gaddafi.
They are hoping to dislodge the last few remaining supporters of the former leader, who was driven from power almost two months ago.
Pro-government fighters also pushed into the centre town on foot, leading to pitched battles with the holdouts.
Those pro-Gaddafi forces have reportedly been squeezed into a two-square-kilometre pocket.
Clouds of smoke could be seen rising from the city, which has been besieged for weeks.
Among the buildings hit - this house belonging to the Gaddafi family.
(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) ANTI-GADDAFI FIGHTER, SAMI MOHAMMED ABDEL KARIM AL-OBEIDI SAYING:
''We occupied this house last night, it is the Sirte home of Muammar's wife, Safia. As you can see, this is the room of one of the grandchildren of the tyrant Muammar.''
Libya's government has placed a priority on taking Sirte, saying the country cannot go ahead with the democratic process until the town falls.
