Crowds gathered near the Eiffel Tower in Paris to take part in one of a series of demonstrations around the world to protests the kidnappings by Colombian rebel forces. Ingrid Betancourt who was set free earlier this month along with 14 other hostages after being held by the Farc rebels for six years,was the star guest at the rally . Betancourt who called for the release of all those held hostage by Colombian rebels displayed a large photo of Israeli soldier Gilad Schalit,who has been held captive in Gaza for two years, on the stage.07/21/08
