Seeking to secure a peace deal with Israel, Syrian President Bashar Assad has reportedly drafted a document defining the boundaries of the Golan Heights which puts Syria on the northeastern Kinneret shore. According to the Reuters report Damascus was waiting for an Israeli reply through Turkish mediators. Sources quoted in the report said that an agreement by Israel on six points could helpseal a deal by the end of next year.12/16/08
