German police arrested a Lebanese national and a man from Gaza whom they suspect were preparing a bomb. On Thursday German police searched an Islamic Cultural Center the two were known to frequent, and also searched their apartments in Berlin for evidence. Police officials said they were searching for chemical substances and other components used to make an explosive device. Their arrests came days after Germany's Interior Minister said the country was facing real and intensive threats. Police failed to reveal the identities of the two saying they are suspected of plotting to commit a violent crime. According to reports, the two had been under surveillance for some months.
