The State Attorney's Office in the Mexican state of Chihuahua has released security camera footage showing armed inmates taking part in a riot that left 17 prisoners dead at a prison in Ciudad Juarez. The images show two inmates restraining a security guard and a group of inmates carrying machine pistols, assault rifles and handguns. A deadly clash between two rival gangs erupted on Monday night at the state prison. A group of inmates entered the preventive detention area and opened fire on other inmates there, said a spokesman for Chihuahua state prosecutors. He said the inmates had firearms and that police are investigating who smuggled the weapons into the prison.
