In the wake of the killing of a DSP in Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh, another instance of jungle raj in UP has surfaced. Recently re-inducted minister in UP Cabinet, Vinod Singh, has issued an open threat to the district magistrate of Gonda. Singh has warned the district magistrate to stop the anti- encroachment drive and also threatened officers who would continue the anti-encroachment drive. Last year, Singh was sacked from the ministry for allegedly kidnapping and threatening the district CMO. He was re-inducted in State Cabinet last month on the ground that no evidence could be found against him.
