After some two months of a political stalemate, a new government in Italy.
On Sunday, new Italian Prime Minister, Enrico Letta, took the reins of power.
Ahead of the first cabinet meetings, he was joined by former Prime Minister Mario Monti for a symbolic bell handover ceremony.
Letta was able to unite former political rivals in a broad coalition government, after February's inconclusive elections left the government in limbo.
Earlier, the cabinet was sworn in.
The mix of center-right and center-left politicians and unaffiliated technocrats was largely welcomed by Italy's mainstream press.
Letta is expected to set out his government's plans in parliament on Monday and will then need to win a vote of confidence in both houses to be fully empowered.
